A Simple Dent Or Serious Damage?

Did you know, car accidents don’t just leave a dent on the outer shell of a vehicle?  They can also cause damage in unseen areas such as steering components, tie rods, belts and even the main frame.

Many of us think a small fender bender is easily fixed. Just pop out a dent with a suction cup, fill it with some putty then spray a coat of paint over the scratches and it will look “new” again.

These small repairs may work just fine for a minor bump from a car door banging into the side of your vehicle. However, when a car has been in a “fender bender”, it takes skilled technicians to check the main bodywork for structural and engine damages to ensure your car is safe to ride in again.

All of these major components that can’t be seen from an owner’s perspective are what some people call “the undercover details,” which if not properly fixed can make your vehicle dangerous while driving.

Think about it, you wouldn’t grab a paint brush and some putty to fix a living room wall that was collapsing just to make it look pretty, would you? You would hire a professional carpenter to shore up the foundation, rebuild the wall, and then finally you would have it painted.

The same is true for a car that’s been damaged in an accident. You need to be sure the structural details of your car are in good condition not just the paint job.

That is why, here at Joey’s Auto Body Shop of Chestertown, MD, our technicians are fully certified and up to date on all the skills and newest techniques to restore your car.
